Chase Distillery launches two new products
Chase Distillery was founded in 2008 by William Chase the man behind Tyrells Crisps. He took the only logical next step from turning potatoes into crisps by turning them into potato vodka – Chase Vodka. Since then they have moved onto liqueurs using the potato vodka as the base and fresh fruit from their farm.
Now they have added two new products, first up is Naked Chase which as well as being a game I played at primary school is now a vodka made from organic cider apples. This unique take on vodka was inspired by the Chase Distillery’s desire to make a gin and finding that Chase Vodkas potato base was to complex and overpowered the botanicals they had to look else where. As a result they made an apple based vodka to redistill for the gin but it tasted so darn good they have released it on is own – Naked Chase, 42% ABV
If you have been paying attention you may well be able to guess what the second new product on offer is… yep indeedy it is William Chase Gin. Based on the cider apple vodka mentioned above this gin is passed twice through a copper pot and 70 foot column before being finished off in a Carter Head style still (as used by Bombay Sapphire and Hendrick’s). In a refreshingly open move Chase Distillery list their botanicals which are: Juniper, Coriander, Angelica, Liquorice, Orris, Orange and Lemon peel, Hops, Elderflower and fresh Bramley apples. If serving as a gin and tonic it is suggested that it is served with an apple slice.
