The Appleton Estate #DiscoverRum Competition is here, a nationwide competition with trips to Jamaica galore up for grabs.
Appleton Estate have a bit of a reputation for great comps, amazing prizes and once in a lifetime trips and it appears that 2013 is going to be no different.
The competition is running nationwide from October 1st – November 30th tasking bartenders to create a Discovery Cocktail. What constitutes a Discovery cocktail is largely up to your interpretation, the brief is simply to create a serve based on Discovery consisting of at least 30ml of Appleton Estate V/X.
The entries will be judged on the taste of the serve, presentation, reasons why the serve should win and sales of the cocktail in the bar. The entries will also be judged on % uplift of sales in Appleton Estate Rums within the total spirits category (a natural occurrence if you come up with a killer drink), as well as visits from mystery shoppers.
The country will be divided into 6 areas and one bar from each area will be selected to attend the final in the Appleton Estate Rum Bus in January.
The overall winner will win a trip for 4 of their bar team to Jamaica in 2014, but in a show of fantastic Jamaican generosity 1 member of the other 5 bars in the final will also win a trip.
That’s right there are NINE trips to Jamaica up for grabs.
Now with a prize like that you’d expect some conditions when entering the competition so here we go.
